Vinyl fence installation Salt Lake City

In this short post, we go into the step-by-step process for vinyl fence installations.  As vinyl fencing comes with panels that lock into place, installation is quite simple.

Tools Needed
  • Post hole digger
  • String line

Materials Needed
  • Vinyl fence posts
  • Gravels
  • Can of spray paint
  • 2 x 4s

Step 1: Define the Property Line
It's important to know exactly where the property lines are drawn in accordance with legal purchase documents for your property.

Step 2: Draw Fence Line
After there is clarity on the property line, it's time to draw the fence line. You'll want to mark the locations of the corner holes and line posts with your can of spray paint.  Ensure the distance between posts (typically 8 feet) matches that of your vinyl panels.

Step 3: Temporarily Set the Vinyl Posts
With assistance from the post hole digger, clear out holes about 24 inches deep and 10 inches wide.  Fill in the first 2 to 3 inches of the holes with gravel for easier drainage.  While ensuring the posts are level, insert corner posts in each hole.  Brace each fence post with a 2 x 4 that are attached to the post tops and the ground.

Step 4: Set Height with String Line
Ensure the string is taut & level and then run through each corner post.  This will provide a check to make sure the posts are installed at an even height.  When sure the corner posts are even, place all remaining posts in holes while making sure each is plumb (& even with the nearest corner post).

Step 5: Assemble Vinyl Panels
Panels come in three parts: bottom rail, slats and top rail.  These needs to be assembled based on the fence manufacturer's manual.  Once you're able to snap in the the top and bottom rails you'll know the fence panels are assembled properly.

Step 6: Set the Fence Posts
After mixing fast-dry cement, pour into fence post holes so that they are completely filled.  We recommend leaving the 2x4 in place for 24 hours until the cement settles. Once done, apply PVC cement filling to the inside of the post caps and install on top of the posts.

I like that you said to draw out the fence line and mark the corner posts so the 8 feet posts match! I am thinking of getting a fence around my yard to help keep my new puppy from getting into trouble. Thanks for your advice on how to do it yourself; however, I have a large yard so I think I might look for professionals to help me get the project installed quickly!

The Los Angeles Fence Company is one of the most reputable names you will encounter in the fence installation business. We have served plenty of happy customers in our almost three decades in the industry. There are plenty of fence companies who may offer you unrealistically low prices for their services.

Utilizing a post opening digger, burrow openings around 24" profound and 10" in distance across. Add a couple of creeps of rock to the lower part of the openings for seepage. Addition corner posts in openings. Guarantee the posts are level and plumb. Briefly support posts with 2" x 4"s connected to post tops and ground.

I like how you mentioned that the property line's location is necessary for a proper installation. Yesterday, a friend of mine informed me that he was planning to remove their current fence due to old age and replace it with a vinyl fence because of its durability and classic look. You did a fantastic job of explaining, I'll tell him that they can consult a vinyl fence service as they can provide details about their rates and services.
