How to Pair a Gate with Fence

A fence around your residence provides the ultimate layer of security and privacy that allows you and your family the right to enjoy the comforts of your home.   This post aims to help you pick which fence and gate combinations to pair as you design your backyard sanctuary.   After all, what good is a fence if you can't get in and out of it!

Some things that should always be considered before having a fence & gate installed:
  • Have an example of the fence or gate you want installed in your yard
  • Consider who you share the fence with and what the fence will look like from a neighbor's perspective (often a much different view from that of yours)
  • Weather conditions that the gate will go through, not all materials hold up the same

Manual Gates
This is the most common and least expensive choice when it comes to gate installation.  A manual gate provides ease of entry to your front or back yard, pool area or to the area of your commercial property.  It is easy to pair a manual gate with any fence material and many of our fence designs have corresponding gate combinations that pair well.  Manual gates are typically paired with locks and latches so that the gate is closed and secure in hectic weather conditions.

Automatic Gates
With an automatic gate you are adding an extra level of security to your property that you can't get with a manual in-and-out gate. For this reason, the added cost of automatic gate installation is often what our customers cannot live without! We see automatic gates frequently installed over driveways and other entrances to residences and commercial properties.  It is also hard to fathom having a manual gate in your driveway in which you'd have to get out of your car to unlock each time, not what you want to come home to after a long day's work!  Automatic gates typically come with sensors that unlock your gate from up to a quarter mile away so you can arrive home or to the office like a king.

To help save you money and time, having the type of gate you want picked out with your new fence installation is an easy addition to the process.  Once type is known, we cut out the dimensions of the section and install the gate after the rest of the fence is in the ground.   Before we hit the shovel to the ground, let us know what kind of gate you imagine with your brand new fence and we will add it to your design!
